Sunsama walks you through a short morning plan and an evening shutdown, with realistic time estimates and a pleasant calm tone. It is one of the gentler planners — the price is the daily ritual itself.
Each morning you pull in tasks from your tools, give them honest time estimates, and decide what will actually fit. At night you close out with a short review. The design philosophy is explicitly anti-overcommitment: it would rather you skip a task than pretend you can do it all.
For people who enjoy the daily planning ceremony, Sunsama is a genuinely good tool. For anyone whose executive function is unreliable on bad days, "you must plan every morning" is a maintenance requirement, and maintenance is the thing that fails. The closed-loop layer — checking that the plan actually happened and re-opening it if not — is ours and it is the half most planners leave out.
